MIDTOWN KANSAS CITY RENAISSANCE

Midtown Kansas City boasts some of the nations best attractions, exquisite historic architecture, neighborhoods, retail, shopping and entertainment. Starting just south of the Crossroads area, Union Station offers a plethora of activities from Railroad History, to Science City, a Planetarium, live children's theatre at TYA in the H&R Block City Stage, The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce is housed there, and if you visit soon, you can see one of the worlds most extensive treasures at the exhibit of King Tut's Tomb.  The Crown Center houses one of the nations top rated children's theaters, The Coterie.  You can also visit LegoLand and SeaLife Aquarium.  Midtown also boasts the only WWI Museum in the world.  And it is a must see!  The Historic Westport area is one of Kansas City's truly unique experiences, from the food, to the shopping, to the music....you never leave Westport without an exciting new experience.  The Country Club Plaza, which was the nations first outdoor shopping center, is a fashionista's dream.  With more and more upscale shops opening every season, there really is something for everyone.  The Plaza also continues to grow with new developments like the Polsinelli Law Firm and exquisite Hotel Sorella.  The Nelson-Atkins Art Museum and Kemper Art Museum are two of the most impressive in the country, rated by national news sources at top five attractions.   

Midtown Development is heating up fast.  The area around KU Medical School on 39th and Rainbow Rd. is bursting with new apartments, retail shops and eateries.  This effort is being mirrored at 29th and Gilham, just south of Crown Center, and AGAIN at Troost and I-70 where the UMKC Medical and Dental school students are in for a treat with nearly 5 blocks of formerly blighted Troost Ave. receiving major renovations and new construction.  The next obvious step and GIANT DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY is along the blocks of 31st and Linwood between Main St. and Troost, where the later street car development is planning track.  This pocket is primed to receive the overflow from Westport and The Crossroads area and morph into one of the cities largest commercial and residential development areas in Kansas City.  MAC Properties has started the ball rolling with Luxury Renovations to over a dozen Historic Hotel-Apartment rental properties along Armour Blvd.  We are currently working with MAC to transform Armour Blvd. into a boulevard of local sculptures!  The residential scene in Midtown is also booming.  The larger that life homes scattered all throughout Midtown in Historic Neighborhoods such as Union Hill, Squire Park, Hyde Park, Brookside, Waldo, Plaza, West Plaza, Roanoke, Valentine, Westport, and Southmoreland just to name a few!  Families are demanding an urban experience and working hard to finish out the development of these residential neighborhoods.  Our own Mayor, Sly James, lives in Union Hill.  If Midtown is good enough for him, it's good enough for anyone!  The community is also going to extensive efforts to reclaim and redevelop formerly blighted and abandoned real estate.  The charter school system is garnering city wide support in order to create more quality seats for children living in Kansas City.  Major success stories like Academie Lafayette, Crossroads Academy (located downtown), University AcademyKauffman School, and Alta Vista are high performing highly rated schools that are primed for and planning expansion.  Read more about the Kansas City Charter School Opportunities here.
